Career Issues

Dr. Tobin consults with patients on psychological factors involved in the professional workplace and on aspects of one’s life history that may be related to career dissatisfaction and/or disillusionment. He brings a wealth of experience in the corporate environment to patients who struggle with the emotional and interpersonal demands of professional settings.

Before becoming a psychologist, Dr. Tobin worked in human resources management consulting, facilitating corporate change initiatives in Fortune 500 companies in the financial services, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries.  His consulting projects focused on how group functioning and managerial styles affect team performance.  He also studied the unique qualities of “high performing” executives and developed training modules based on close analysis of the attitudes and behavioral competencies demonstrated by these star performers. 

Dr. Tobin also worked in the career/outplacement consulting industry, offering executives at a range of managerial levels a variety of services including professional competency assessment, networking facilitation, resume development, interviewing training, and consultation regarding how to navigate interpersonal and administrative challenges in the workplace.
